Reading your stats
The Stats page lives under your profile. Everything on it is worked out from your reps, in your own time zone.
The period
Section titled “The period”The buttons at the top choose the period: Last 3 months, Last 12 months, or a calendar year once your history goes back that far. The choice changes every figure on the page, not just the calendars.
Problem types you have switched off are left out by default — from the figures, the lines and the list of days, not just their own rows. Tick the box to include them.
The summary
Section titled “The summary”Four figures for the period:
- Days practised — days with at least one rep.
- Practice — your median error across every answered rep.
- Retained — your median error on cold reads only.
- Speed — your median time to answer.
All of them are medians. See Practice and Retained for why the two error figures are kept apart.
What’s sticking
Section titled “What’s sticking”One row per problem type, with its own Practice, Retained and Speed, and a calendar underneath. A type still being learned is marked Learning. A dash means there is nothing to show yet, usually because a type has had no cold reads.
The calendars
Section titled “The calendars”Each square is a day, one column per week, like a GitHub contribution graph.
- Red — a day you did reps of this type.
- Fading red — the days after. The shade is a model of how much you still hold, fading at the pace of the type’s interval: a type on a long interval stays warm for longer.
- Blue — past its due date. The longer it goes, the bluer, measured in intervals: a 3-day type left 3 days late is fully blue.
- A dot — a cold read.
- Grey — before you started the type, or outside the period you chose.
Hover or tap a square for the date and what happened that day. The calendar is the same size whatever period you choose, so nothing shifts when you switch.
The fading is modelled, not measured: it shows what the schedule assumes. The cold reads are the measurement.
Am I getting better?
Section titled “Am I getting better?”One chart for all types together, then one for each type, so a type that is slipping cannot hide in the overall figure.
Each chart has two lines:
- Practice — the median of your last 20 answered reps, as it stood at the end of each day.
- Retained — the median of your last 8 cold reads. It is a step line: it changes only when a cold read happens.
The windows are wide on purpose: narrower ones jumped around from day to day and said more about one lucky or unlucky answer than about you. The lines start once you have that many reps or cold reads in the history. Two labelled lines mark 10% (excellent) and 40% (acceptable).
Hover, tap or use the arrow keys to read a day.
Under the charts, one sentence says whether you tend to land high or low: your median signed error. Knowing your lean is the first step to correcting it.
Days practised
Section titled “Days practised”The days in the period, newest first, with how many reps you did and their median error. Each day lists its sittings; See reps opens one rep by rep.
